Body

This guide explains how to create and configure new projects in Thulo Cloud.

Getting Started:

  1. Navigate to the "Projects" section from the Thulo Cloud menu and click "New Project" in the top left corner.

Project Details:

  • Project Name: Define a clear and descriptive project name visible to the client.
  • Select Customer: Choose the associated client for the project.
  • Billing Type (Pre-selected based on most frequent type):
    • Fixed Cost: Total project cost is predetermined.
    • Project Hours: Billing based on total billable project hours.
    • Task Hours: Billing based on the sum of billable hours for individual tasks. (Note: Task hourly rates must be set during task creation.)

  • Select Project Members: Assign team members with "Manage Projects" permission to grant them project access.
  • Start Date & End Date: Set the project timeframe.
  • Project Description: Provide a detailed project overview.

Project Settings: Tailor Client Visibility and Collaboration

  • Define what aspects of the project the client can see: tasks, comments on tasks, task attachments, task checklist items, the ability to upload attachments to tasks, view task logged time, view project finance overviews (except for fixed cost projects), upload files, participate in discussions, view milestones, view the Gantt chart, view timesheets, view the activity log, and view team members.
  • Configure client file upload permissions.

Notes:

  • New projects inherit default settings from the previous project you created. Adjustments can be made as needed.
  • Project currency defaults to your base currency or the client's currency (if different).

Key Points:

  • Billing type cannot be changed after any tasks are billed for the project.
  • Finance overview for tasks is not available for fixed cost projects.

By following these steps, you can efficiently set up new projects in Thulo Cloud, ensuring clear communication and streamlined collaboration with your clients.
